Business parks attractive target for criminals

Business park
Business parks are often victims of (hidden) crime. This is because there is little surveillance. It is a breeding ground for criminal and undermining activities. VCS supports the safety of business parks with Camera Surveillance.

These sites are attractive place for criminals who want to stay under the radar. They seek locations for front companies, drug production and storage sites with good connections to the logistics network to the rest of Europe. With regularity, these activities are discovered. But this is not always happening because there is little surveillance of these places.

Recognise ‘wrong’ companies

You can recognise suspect companies by several points, for example:

  • There are construction and lugging works at odd hours.
  • There are many people in and around the building at illogical hours.
  • New tenant installs new doors and many locks.
  • There are remarkably few or many staff.

Burglary

Not only can suspicious businesses create unsafe situations for your business and/or premises. You can also become a victim of burglary. Especially in the evening, there is little or no surveillance.

Camera Solutions

Camera surveillance by VCS helps to recognise the above risks in time. It also helps you detect disruptions, nuisances and vandalism at an early stage. This is possible because the cameras contain smart software. Through artificial intelligence (AI), these cameras learn what is a normal pattern of behaviour. For example, they see when someone is showing deviant behaviour. And count how many people are walking on the premises and raise an alarm if there is a suspicious number. They also signal what type of vehicles drive by. In case of abnormal situations, the camera immediately sends a signal to the control room. They can take appropriate action, such as calling in the police.
