Social responsibility
Corporate responsibility for people and the environment
Our ambition is to make the world a safer place. And greener, cleaner, and more diverse. Because this too contributes to a liveable environment. We are a principled and inclusive organization, and we actively involve colleagues in a more sustainable way of working.
Because social responsibility is deeply rooted in our organization, we set high standards for ourselves and our business relationships. We vouch for our ethical business conduct, maintain a strict anti-bribery policy and are responsible for proper accounting and record keeping. This is how we build a secure future together.

Diversity
VCS's success starts with the diversity of our people. Innovative insights and surprising solutions are the result of special combinations of knowledge, experience, perspectives, and backgrounds. At VCS, we value those differences. Diversity is therefore a key strategic pillar of the organisation.
With our diversity policy, we strive for an inclusive workforce in which we embrace the differences. Diversity and inclusion are strategically woven into all organizational levels at VCS. Each and every colleague contributes to this mission. That, too, is social responsibility.
Diversity Statement:
‘VCS stands for an inclusive culture, where all colleagues feel involved. For us, diversity: developing and using our diverse qualities. Together.’
Sustainability
For us, sustainability is an integral part of our strategy. We work on circularity, we reduce our CO2 emissions and our energy consumption. We bring sustainability and social responsibility to the attention of colleagues, suppliers and customers.
We keep improving
Our environmental policy is included as part of our ISO 9001 certification. We are always looking at where improvements can be made. We provide insight into our CO2 emissions with a footprint. We evaluate our consumption annually and take advantage of opportunities for improvement.

Electric fleet
Our fleet is almost entirely electric. Even the work buses. As a result, our employees drive around emission-free. Our mechanics drive around in a Volkswagen ID. Buzz Cargo. They work throughout the country.
Working (together) smartly
From our Network Operations Center, VCS performs remote monitoring and maintenance. We even do updates and upgrades remotely. We don't have to be on location for this. By fully focusing on remote management, we now solve 80% of our disruptions remotely.
Saving energy
In addition, on our monitoring platform we can see exactly where the disruption is in the chain. This allows us to send our field service engineers on location in a very targeted way. Again, this saves on mileage and energy consumption.

Valuable raw materials
We only supply cameras from manufacturers that provide parts for repairs, even well beyond the production date. We manage longer life spans through (preventive) maintenance and repairs. We perform checks and minor repairs on site, in our preparation room.
We always use as few components as possible in a system. For example: by using high-resolution cameras, fewer are needed. And when we disassemble hardware, we examine which materials can still be used. We store these in our warehouse.
Circularity, recycling systems
Hardware we no longer use is disassembled. We investigate which parts we can reuse. For example, for emergency projects or as a temporary workaround for breakdowns or repairs. We store these parts for reuse.
New building materials
VCS has a contract with one ISO 14001-certified waste management company, which relieves us of the burden of processing and handling the total waste management. The goal is to turn as many residual materials as possible into new building materials. This is also stated in our ISO 9001 certificate.
